Katt Williams on Deion Sanders: "We should be so lucky as to have a black coach like that"

The popular entertainer applauds Coach Prime accomplishments at Colorado

Katt Williams had said a lot recently about the dynamics in show business. While people have started to take sides about his experiences in Hollywood, there's no denying how relevant the topics he brought to the table are in the entertainment world.

Williams isn't the first to talk about them and surely won't be the last. He was recently asked about Deion Sanders and his impact on culture. The long-time entertainer gave a detailed assessment of what he sees and tells 'Willie D Live' he has supported Coach Prime's journey from afar.

"I'm saying anytime a great individual, regardless of what he does, finds something that he can be great in... Like that's going to work, Williams noted. (Sanders) is a motivating factor and an asset. He always has been since the Jheri curl days. Those are the leaders of men that we discussed earlier. An eternal optimist... Someone that's clever and about books and hard work and discipline. You know, as a black person, we should be so lucky as to have a black coach like that. And as a non-black person, what a great job."

Sanders has only been in Boulder a year and continues to drive economic success for Colorado. It's only one factor of the 'Prime Effect', which has become recognized as a national phenomenon that has put CU back on the map in the college football world.

The Buffaloes ended the 2023 season by exceeding expectations set by oddsmakers, but it wasn't deemed a success by Sanders and his staff. They went back to the drawing board and have put together a combined recruiting class that currently sits on the fringe of being in the top 20, according to 247Sports. One of the weakest spots for the Buffs was execution on the offensive line. After allowing an FBS record 56 sacks, CU's coaches pulled in a deeper pool of talent via the transfer portal to protect Shedeur Sanders and allow him more time in the pocket.

Coach Prime has a month to finalize the initial roster before Signing Day on February 7. All eyes will be on the Buffs to see who might flip to Boulder.
