Pat McAfee agrees with Deion Sanders on fighting, "You gotta be F-ing tough"

Pat McAfee has Deion Sanders back when it comes to fighting on the field.

The ESPN commentator and former NFL punter typically twists humor and sarcasm into sports biggest headlines, but the story of the day took a serious turn on Wednesday. McAfee played a clip from HBO's Hard Knocks with a fight in practice between New York Jets players. He then mirrored that to Sanders' response to a few offensive players walking away from a fight.

The viral video shows the NFL Hall-of-Famer becoming irate after safety Jaden Milliner-Jones threw running back Anthony Hankerson to the ground, which prompted Buffs offensive lineman Gerad Christian-Lichtenhan to put hands on JMJ. Several Colorado players rushed to break it up, except the ones who got an earful from Coach Prime.

"He just fought. I saw two of y’all walking off over there, and you got a teammate fighting. Where do they do that at?" Sanders via Well Off Media. "If one fighting, we all fight. You understand that? I don't want to see y’all walking off when somebody’s fighting. Never again."

McAfee echoed Sanders' words on his show saying, " Yeah, (Football) is a hard sport and involves some combat, and you gotta be F-in tough. You can't be soft and you can't be the guy that runs away from a fight when it's happening."

The Buffaloes offense redeemed themselves with the entire group standing up in a fight the next day. It was recognized by Sanders, who playfully came to blows with his son, Shilo, during the melee. It's all part of Coach Prime hardnose culture coming to life in Boulder.

Colorado is exactly two weeks away from a meeting with 17th-ranked TCU. The first time in two decades the Buffs will open the season against a ranked opponent. They pulled off a 42-35 upset of No. 23 Colorado State in the 2003 Rocky Mountain Showdown.
