Shedeur Sanders partners with AT&T at the National Championship

The star for CU's 'Grown' QB continues to shine on all the biggest stages

Shedeur Sanders seems like he has been everywhere lately. The Colorado Buffaloes quarterback was in Boulder pulling in recruits before early Signing Day, down in Dallas taking in a Cowboys game, shopping in Miami with Jordan Seaton, and even made his way to Houston for the National Championship game.

While the college football season comes to an end tonight here at NRG Stadium, don’t expect to suddenly see less of Sanders in the coming weeks. It’s not happening. If 2023 was all about the “Prime Effect,” then 2024 is the year of "Shedeur."

We’ve seen his appearance at the Playoff Fan Central, where hundreds of fans waited patiently in line for a chance to meet the Buffaloes star quarterback. All told, there were many more fans turned away from the queue.

The latest commercial for AT&T teams up Sanders with Georgia wide receiver Dillon Bell. The players were tasked to complete a three-round stadium snack draft from a pre-filled list of 15 items. The advertising spot has already amassed close to five million views on Instagram as Michigan starts to pull away from Washington.

The draft itself was not without controversy. Bell’s selection of sour candy with the No. 1 overall pick might be the most polarizing selection since the Oakland Raiders picked JaMarcus Russell in 2007.

Sanders followed up with a very solid pick of buttered popcorn. I don’t think there’s any argument with that selection. Bell then chose another head scratcher with a stadium corn dog. It's not a fan favorite in the slightest. Shedeur once again dominated the round by drafting a most refreshing lemonade to wash down the popcorn.

Bell then threw a curveball by selecting a cheeseburger with his final pick. On the surface, it's a solid pick, but with no drink anywhere in sight, and acknowledging that clear reach for sour candy in the first round, Bell’s draft left a lot to be desired.

Sanders came through again in round three and found the best available snack on the board, which was a candy bar. In the end, seeing soda, nachos, and soft pretzels all going undrafted was a bit of a surprise. While we may be a little biased here, I think it’s safe to say Shedeur turned in another legendary performance.

Coach Prime's son experienced everything the National Championship had to offer in his home state. We'll see if Colorado can position themselves to be one of the twelve teams in next year's College Football Playoff. It would be a dream scenario with the 2025 National Championship game from Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
