Warren Sapp intends to join Deion Sanders' CU staff in 2024

It's no secret Warren Sapp wants to break into coaching one day. The Hall-of-Famer has talked about it several times over the past few years and again on the Rich Eisen Show on Tuesday.

Except this time was different with Sapp, who said he would take a spot on Deion Sanders' staff at CU next year. This was a public response to Sanders saying he wanted Sapp to be a part of what's going on in Boulder.

"I'm going to go get my degree and I'm going to ask Prime for a spot on his staff," Sapp said. "I got my transcript. I'm starting the process."

The NFL All-Pro made his name with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before joining the Raiders to end his career in 2007. Sapp and Sanders were part of the NFL Network's coverage lineup as well. The two were built up as some of the most decorated players for their respective positions in NFL history. Coach Prime spoke out about the need for an "upper room" in Canton, and I'm sure Sapp would be joining him.

Sapp spent time with Prime in Boulder recently and helped out in practice. There was a lot of speculation if Sapp and Terrell Owens would be joining Sanders at Jackson State. Neither did, but they both made appearances to show support.
