If you're one of the millions who've been waiting years for the return of EA Sports College Football, you won't have to wait much longer.

The popular video game that was once halted due to rights issues over a decade ago will be available this Summer, according to an announcement on Thursday. It's a huge relief for fans who've waited years for a re-release with the world's most popular video game producer dropping a teaser.

EA Sports was taken to court a couple different times over the past three years to block the release of the game. The last attempt by The Brandr Group, a firm who works to negotiate licensing deals on behalf of over fifty Division I schools, was dismissed and allowed for the process to move forward. There hasn't been an NCAA College Football product to hit the video game market since 2013. EA vowed to return after NIL adoption was allowed two years ago, but it has been a rollercoaster ride.

There have been many advancements in the college football world since the last edition of the game was finalized. A 12-team CFB Playoff, NIL valuations, and conference realignment just to name a few. We'll see how it all comes together after years of anticipation. The group at EA Sports called College Football "a labor of love" back in 2014 before closing up shop. "This franchise has been developed by a team that is deeply committed to the tradition and culture of this sport – that’s why fans have always loved it."

Many people have speculated who might grace the cover for the 2025 edition. Deion Sanders would be an outstanding choice given his impact on the sports world. Coach Prime is also an NFL Draft advisor in last year’s legendary version of EA's Madden NFL football.

With a couple hurdles cleared in the process, everything sounds promising for a mastered project being released soon. EA Sports said there will be more details coming in May.
