Nebraska coach Matt Rhule was asked in his weekly press conference about the pregame exchange with Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders. He said the Husker players gathered on the field to "pray" while first entering Folsom Field this past weekend.

“We do it at every stadium. We go over there and pray for blessings," Rhule said. "I asked Shedeur if he wanted to pray with us. I’m a public official, I can have my own faith, I say ‘pray’ but we take a moment as a team."

While Rhule seems to have good intentions by his statement, he's also not telling the truth about what happened. A video from Denver 7's Nick Rothschild shows the Nebraska players spread out on the field trying to interrupt Sanders and others in pregame warm-ups. It was a heated point of contention with Sanders flashing his watch in Nebraska wide receiver Billy Camp's face. The moment was also why Sanders said the game was personal to him.

Rhule's intimidation tactic backfired as Colorado beat Nebraska 36-14 on Saturday. Sanders had a moment in the game where he was penalized for taking his helmet off in celebration. Coach Prime later talked about it on FOX Sports' Undisputed.

"During the game, Shedeur made that Heisman-type scramble. He took off his helmet and was strutting... I said, 'Son, you can not take off your helmet.' Shedeur goes, 'Dad, but it's personal.'"

No. 18 Colorado moved to 2-0 on the season with Colorado State this week to wrap up the Buffs' non-conference schedule. The latest edition of the Rocky Mountain Showdown heads to Boulder at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN.
