Colorado's Jahquez Robinson enters transfer portal

Colorado is losing a contributor in the secondary with Jahquez Robinson entering the transfer portal on Thursday. The move comes a couple weeks after Buffs defensive coordinator Charles Kelly left for another position at Auburn. Robinson decided to come to CU from Alabama last year and followed Kelly, who was the Tide's DC under Nick Saban.

Robinson noted that his relationship with Kelly was the reason why he joined the Buffs.

"I would say the biggest thing is my relationship with Coach Kelly," Robinson told BuffsBeat's Nick Ferguson. "(Kelly) was one of the guys when he left I was sad. That's who I was always around and always watching game films with and learning the game. Another thing is, I ran into problems with the coaching, as far as not coming to an agreement for which position I should play or how I feel in the depth chart. Those are the two main reasons I decided to leave (Alabama)."

Robinson played in seven games for Colorado last year, racking up nine tackles (one for loss), and an interception against Oregon's Bo Nix. One of three picks on the season for the Heisman finalist. Robinson was a steady part of the Buffs defensive backfield rotation. An original three-star recruit from Jacksonville's Sandalwood HS (Florida) prior to three years at Alabama. He'll have two years of eligibility left on the books.
