Savion Washington will be one-and-done in Boulder. The Colorado Buffaloes 6-foot-8, 330-pound offensive tackle announced he would be entering the transfer portal on Monday.

The former Kent State product followed his then head coach, Sean Lewis, who became CU's offensive coordinator. Washington played well but was hampered by injury in the midst of the Pac-12 conference schedule. He missed the bulk of seven games this past season. Without Washington, the Buffs were forced to rebuild the offensive line, which failed to bring any consistency and put Shedeur Sanders on the ground for a record 52 times. By the time Washington was healthy, the damage was already done.

An overhaul of CU's offensive line took place a few weeks after the season ended.  Washington hung on through the first round of offseason drills, but the end result was the same. He wanted a change of scenery and could be reunited with Lewis at San Diego State, or with his former O-line coach Bill O'Boyle at Northwestern.

After starting 11 games at Kent State in 2022, Washington transferred to Colorado last winter as part of the initial portal surge. He has taken over 800 snaps in the past two years. If he can stay healthy, the might big man has a lot of upside. He'll try to restart his career after leaving the Buffs.

Washington will have two years to finish his collegiate career starting next year.
