Deion Sanders says recruits have recorded other head coaches trashing Colorado

Coach Prime expanded on the ongoing negative recruiting efforts by other programs

Deion Sanders has commented before about negative recruiting with other programs going out of their way to bad mouth Colorado. He went a little further explaining the situation with Robert Griffin III on his podcast 'The Ones', which was released on Thursday.

Coach Prime talked about recruits sharing recordings of coaches trying to "selling out" him and his staff and talked about them "like a dog." This adds on to the narrative recently presented by Jordan Seaton. The nation’s top offensive lineman said a coach asked if he "wanted to be a rapper" when he committed to CU.

Sanders didn't shy away for responding to his colleagues in private and let it be known. "Be careful because when these kids bring phones into your meeting room, you're exposed to certain things," Sanders said. "I'm not going to put you out there, but just keep my name out of your mouth."

Colorado started out last season with opposing coaches trying to make it personal toward the Sanders family. Oregon's Dan Lanning held a grudge at Coach Prime with several public comments over the span of months. The other was CSU's Jay Norvell with his "shades and glasses" jab, putting an interesting spin on the Rocky Mountain Showdown.

However, USC's Lincoln Riley and former Alabama head coach Nick Saban were part of the ones who showed their appreciation for Sanders and what he brings to college football.

Sanders enters his second season with the Buffaloes trending higher than when he arrived in Boulder a year ago. They'll transition to the Big 12 later this year and welcome FCS powerhouse North Dakota State for the opener on Aug. 31.
