Deion Sanders wants NCAA to invoke a major rule change in 2024

Coach Prime would like to see recruing efforts evolve going into next season

Deion Sanders would like to see a few changes within college football next year. The Colorado Buffaloes coach went on the record about one in particular during his weekly press conference on Tuesday. He would like the NCAA to ban recruits from going on an official visit when they've already announced a commitment to a school.

This is most likely in response to a former Colorado recruit visiting Missouri this past weekend. Talan Chandler flipped from CU to Mizzou after being in Columbia. However, being able to stay home and play for the Tigers was a dream of his since a young age. In the same time frame, Missouri also offered Aaron Butler, who's current the Buffs top recruit in the 2024 class. We'll see if this becomes a trend going into the upcoming early Signing Day.

Sanders had a unique way of approaching the question when he was asked about losing Winston Watkins Jr. and Chandler. "A kid isn't even faithful to his girlfriend. You think he's going to be faithful to a school? Like, C'mon man. That's like an emotional thing," Sanders said.

"You know what I wish the NCAA would do... Honestly, if you're committed to somewhere, you can't go on any other visits. I wish what would be. Like if you're commited, that means you're commited."

Sanders followed that up by selling Colorado and the wonderful backdrop of the Flatirons. He also reaffirmed that CU doesn't stand for ATM, and the program won't tolerate being "played" for free trips.

"One thing about it, we're no an ATM," Sanders said. "That's not going to happen here. If you come to Colorado to play football for me and the Colorado Buffaloes, it's because you really want to play football and receive a wonderful education. The business stuff is going to be handled on the back end, if that's the case. But we are not an ATM. You're not coming here to get rich. Unless you come here with a plan to go to the NFL."

Sanders and the Buffs hit the road for the final time this weekend. A final conference meeting with Utah awaits them in Salt Lake City on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET on the Pac-12 Network.
