In this story:

Deion Sanders and the Buffs weren't done pulling in players out of the transfer portal. With all the excitement of early Signing Day, Phillip Houston announced he would be Boulder bound in Wednesday night.

The former FIU offensive lineman was a two-year starter with the Panthers. He has played a majority of his time at right guard and was unranked out of Navarro College in 2021. Houston has size at 6-foot-5 and 265 pounds with an athletic frame. He was a two-way player at McKinney Boyd (Texas), picking up time at tight end.

Houston comes to Colorado with several other transfers on the offensive line. He'll add depth for the Buffs and help bring protection for Shedeur Sanders. One of the few need positions for CU going into 2024. Colorado's offensive line was one of the worst in FBS, allowing 56 sacks in 12 games

Houston comes to Boulder with a year of eligibility remaining. He spent the past two years with former CU head coach Mike MacIntyre. Houston is also the 17th transfer player for Sanders and his staff, which feels on the lighter side as of right now.
