LSU's Quency Wiggins transfers to Colorado

In this story:
Deion Sanders wanted to beef up the edges of the defense and added to that effort on Sunday LSU defensive end Quency Wiggins announced he would be transferring to CU after a year with the Tigers.
The 6-foot-6, 265-pound Louisiana native leaves home for an opportunity to play in the Big 12. Wiggins was a highly-coveted ESPN Top 300 recruit coming out of Madison Prep Academy in 2022 and played in four games at LSU this year. He was a top 50 consensus played in last year's recruiting class, who held offers from Alabama, Florida, and Texas to name a few. He'll retain a year of eligibility due to the four-game redshirt rule.
An original four-star recruit with a two-sport background as a basketball star, who made good use of his seven-foot wingspan. Wiggins logged two tackles in the limited action this season in the SEC.
Wiggins will give the Buffaloes defense depth from the start next year. A tremendous talent with a lot of upside physically. He has shown streaks of being a dominate force at times, but will need to tweak his game to become a solid rusher. Colorado's defensive coordinator Charles Kelly was built for bringing along a talent like Wiggins and will enjoy developing his fundamentals. At the end of the day, he'll likely be a high-round NFL Draft selection.
Colorado had one of the worst defensive efforts last season, giving up over 400 yards per game this year. It's clear Sanders and his staff are rebuilding the core to match the strength of the secondary.
Wiggins joins the Buffs with four years of eligibility remaining on the books.
