Pasadena Police confirms Rose Bowl suspects were recruits for UCLA

Pasadena Police says the suspects tied to the Rose Bowl theft incidents were recruits on an official visit to UCLA for the game against Colorado on October 28.

The news first leaked by The Coach JB Show was confirmed by PPD detectives. In a statement provided to BuffsBeat, the high schoolers were there on a visit when they allegedly took thousands of dollars in valuables from both locker rooms.

Jason Brown, who hosts the Coach JB Show with CU alum Matt McChesney, provided details about two players from Beaumont High School who were arrested last Friday in connection to the Rose Bowl heist. Pasadena Police confirmed the suspects were juveniles, and their names were being kept private at this time.

At least six Colorado players, including Derrick McLendon, Cam'Ron Silmon-Craig, and Jordan Domineck, had jewelry taken from their lockers during the game by the suspects. A few others had Beats by Dre headphones, and Darius Sanders from Reach the People Media had thousands in cash stolen.

BuffsBeat reached out to representatives from UCLA athletic and the Rose Bowl committee for statements, and both declined to comment.
