In this story:

Shedeur Sanders etched his name in CU Football history during his first year in Boulder. The Buffaloes quarterback surpassed Sefo Liufau's record of 3,200 passing yards in Friday night's game at Washington State. He took the top spot with a 45-yard touchdown to Travis Hunter late in the first quarter. It moved him into tenth all-time on CU's career touchdown list.

It's a bittersweet performance for Sanders after he was ruled out with an ankle injury. He left the game in the second quarter with 86 yards and the score.

Sanders set CU's single game passing mark with 510 yards and five TDs to open the season at TCU. He's currently one touchdown away from passing Liufau's single-season mark for touchdowns set in 2014 with 28.

Unfortunately, this season will go down in the book for the amount of sacks allowed, which surpassed a total of 50. However, Sanders has currently thrown for the fewest number of interceptions in CU history.

Sanders and the Buffs will head to Salt Lake City next week to wrap up the 2023 season against Utah. A Rumble in the Rockies matchup with no postseason hope on the line for Colorado. We'll have more clarity on Sanders' injury and if he'll be available for the Buffs finale.
