Colorado's two-way star wants back in the worst way

Travis Hunter is itching to get back out on the field and isn't going to take 'no' for an answer.

The Colorado Buffaloes two-way star sent a message to Coach Prime on Monday, which was read out loud during a team meeting. He was begging to come back for the USC game, but that's not going to happen.

"No, you ain’t ready and I care about you more than I care about this game," Sanders replied. "You’re going to change the game of football one day when you’re healthy and ready. Your future is brighter than mine ever would be and ever was. Relax and get healthy. I love you son."

Hunter suffered a lacerated liver on a hit by Colorado State safety Henry Blackburn during the Buffs’ double-overtime win in the Rocky Mountain Showdown. Colorado got beat 42-6 by Oregon in last weekend's Pac-12 opener with their star resting at home.

Deion Sanders called it an old fashioned butt kicking and said the Buffs would regroup. They face another conference test with 8th-ranked USC coming to Boulder on Saturday. It's the third time Colorado has been featured on FOX's Big Noon Kickoff this year.
