Duke Basketball Rookie 'Cooks' in Second Intrasquad Scrimmage

In this story:
Earlier this month, Duke basketball released nine minutes of video from the 2023-24 Blue Devils' first intrasquad scrimmage with ACC officials on hand. That scrimmage displayed the group's versatility and its ideal blend of newcomers and veterans.
And on Monday night, the program posted nine minutes from the second scrimmage on Coach K Court in Cameron Indoor Stadium (with retired Duke basketball legend Mike Krzyzewski watching the action from the seat next to his successor, second-year head coach Jon Scheyer, near halfcourt).
This time, the theme of the video centers on first-year Blue Devil point guard Caleb Foster.
It's aptly titled "Caleb Cooks," for it's chock-full of Foster snagging loose balls, draining threes, darting through traffic, dishing to open teammates, and delivering buckets inside the arc via smooth fadeaways and floaters, plus several strong finishes around the basket:
The 6-foot-5 Caleb Foster's power-through drive and layup against returning Duke basketball starting point guard Tyrese Proctor stands out as indicative of the type of no-mercy bucket-getter Foster could be this season (at the 3:35 mark in the above video).

Meanwhile, although the reigning ACC Rookie of the Year, Kyle Filipowski, played in the first scrimmage, he was on the bench (but in workout gear) for this second outing. Perhaps it's a precautionary measure related to his recovery from offseason hip surgery.
Duke basketball begins its 2023-24 campaign in Durham against Dartmouth on Nov. 6 and at No. 2, below only Kansas, in the preseason AP Top 25, which came out on Monday afternoon.
On Friday night, Scheyer's second batch of Blue Devils will formally introduce itself to fans and play a Blue-White scrimmage as part of Countdown to Craziness.
