Former Duke basketball forward reenters transfer portal

In this story:
Ole Miss forward Jaemyn Brakefield announced on Sunday afternoon that he is entering his name into the transfer portal amidst a coaching change in Oxford. The 6-foot-8, 220-pound versatile forward, who began his college career as a Duke basketball freshman in 2020-21, has two years of eligibility remaining.
It seems somewhat unlikely that Brakefield would return to Durham.

On the other hand, it's worth noting that the 22-year-old Mississippi native gave a shoutout on Twitter to first-year Blue Devil head coach Jon Scheyer, an assistant during his brief Duke basketball stint, a few hours before tweeting his transfer announcement:

Across his two seasons with the Rebels after transferring from Duke, Brakefield drew starts in 56 of the 65 games he played, averaging 7.9 points and 4.4 rebounds while shooting 49.3 percent from the field and 35.3 percent beyond the arc.
All of those numbers marked increases from his Duke basketball campaign. As a Blue Devil, he started two of the 22 games he played, averaging only 3.5 points and 2.5 rebounds in 12.5 minutes per outing for a team that finished 13-11 overall and failed to earn an NCAA Tournament invite.
Jaemyn Brakefield arrived in Durham in 2020 as a four-star recruit sitting at No. 42 overall on the 247Sports 2020 Composite. He was part of a six-deep recruiting class that ranked No. 4 in the country.
Junior guard Jeremy Roach is the only member of that class on this season's Duke basketball roster.
