Report: Duke misses on 5-star Walker Kessler

Tar Heels reportedly land 2020 center

Duke will need to look elsewhere to fill its spot in the post for the class of 2020.

Top target Walker Kessler, a five-star from Georgia who is the No. 3 center in the class and the No. 15 rising senior in the nation, has given a verbal commitment to the University of North Carolina, after taking his official visit this weekend.

Kessler visited Duke two weeks ago and has also used an official on Michigan.

247Sports' Evan Daniels reported the news late Sunday evening.

Duke will likely shift its focus to Mark Williams, a four-star seven-footer from Florida's IMG Academy, who is scheduled to visit the Blue Devils on an official the weekend of Nov. 1.
