Duke Basketball: Breakout Wing Reports Interest From Blue Devils

In this story:
St. Sebastian's School (Mass.) wing Jaylen Harrell isn't ranked in the 2025 class. But that should soon change in light of recent breakout performances against top talents. Meanwhile, he's already on the Duke basketball radar, per his Thursday tweet reporting 12 schools that have either extended an offer or expressed interest thus far.
Through the first three sessions of this year's Nike EYBL circuit, the 6-foot-6, 185-pound Expressions Elite (Mass.) bucket-getter is one of only six averaging more than 20 points per game in E16 action.
And across his 13 outings, Harrell is shooting 38.8 percent (38-for-98) beyond the arc and 93.6 percent (44-for-47) from the foul line. So it's safe to say he's a high-volume sharpshooter.
However, there's much more to like about his game, including his top-shelf length and energetic playing style.
"Jaylen Harrell brings the heart of 10 men where he plays," Expressions Elite coach Ken Jackson told Zagsblog's Charlie Parent in late April. "Any program or coach would love to have him. His shooting efficiency and being able to score the ball at all three levels separates him from most."

In a win over Team Durant during Nike EYBL Session 1 in Georgia on April 22, Harrell scored 21 points while shooting 3-for-6 from three and 6-for-6 from the charity stripe with members of the Duke basketball staff in attendance.
An offer from the Blue Devils might not be imminent. Even so, Jaylen Harrell is worth watching as Jon Scheyer and his assistants continue to scout and pursue 2025 prospects.
