Duke Basketball Recruiting: Three Favorites Emerging for Flory Bidunga

At the inaugural Sportradar Showdown in Las Vegas this weekend, Kokomo (Ind.) center and prime Duke basketball recruiting target Flory Bidunga told Rivals' Rob Cassidy that he's finished taking visits. On Saturday morning, Cassidy noted that Bidunga plans to "reflect for a period of time and announce a decision."

In other words, folks should be on announcement watch for the 6-foot-9, 220-pound five-star. He's a springy, lengthy bruiser who ranks No. 4 overall on the 247Sports 2024 Composite despite growing up a soccer player in the Democratic Republic of the Congo before focusing his energies on the basketball court only a few years ago.

As for which of his many suitors stand the best chance to land him, Bidunga hasn't named finalists. And Cassidy didn't give his opinion on Saturday.

But 247Sports' Eric Bossi did:

"It sounds like Bidunga is getting closer and closer to a decision...if we had to handicap things, we'd put Auburn, Duke, and Kansas in the best position."

Without a Duke basketball offer in mid-June, Flory Bidunga traveled to Durham for an official visit. Shortly afterward, he revealed his new offer and posted pics in a Blue Devil jersey.

His other official visits were to Auburn, Florida, Kansas, and Michigan. Also worth noting, he's taken an unofficial visit to Cincinnati, which looked like the frontrunner to many in the early going.

No 247Sports Crystal Ball picks exist in the race. However, between the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine and Rivals FutureCast, three expert predictions have appeared within the past five weeks, all favoring the Blue Devils to come out on top.

Bidunga and Paul VI Catholic (Va.) five-star Patrick Ngongba II are the only 2024 centers on Duke's wishlist.
