At No. 5 overall on the 247Sports 2024 Composite, Long Island Lutheran (N.Y.) guard VJ Edgecombe is the highest-ranked undecided recruit in the class. But the prime Duke basketball target won't be on the board much longer, as he told On3's Joe Tipton on Friday that he'll reveal a winner in his recruitment this weekend.

Edgecombe, who has been down to a final three of Duke, Baylor, and Kentucky since late December, is competing at the talent-rich Hoophall Classic in Massachusetts. He plans to announce his decision live at halftime of the game between Montverde Academy (Fla.) and Prolific Prep (Calif.), tipping off at 7:30 p.m. ET Sunday (ESPN2).

At the time of this article's publishing, all five entered picks between the 247Sports Crystal Ball and Rivals FutureCast project Jon Scheyer and the Blue Devils to prevail over the Bears and Wildcats for Edgecombe's services. However, several insiders haven't counted out Baylor or Kentucky completely.

The 6-foot-5, 180-pound five-star, a high-flying showman, received a Duke basketball offer in early July and was on an official visit the same weekend as Countdown to Craziness in October.

VJ Edgecombe's visit with the Blue Devils coincided with visits from all five heralded 2024 prospects who have since signed their national letter of intent and comprise the nation's top-ranked recruiting haul.

Scheyer and his crew have a chance to solidify that ranking on Sunday.
