Florida State and Leonard Hamilton had a big visitor on campus this past weekend, as 2025 Top 50 prospect Alier Maluk used his first official visit on the Seminoles. Maluk is a 6-foot-9, 180-pound forward out of Long Island Lutheran School (NY), and is the No. 41 overall prospect in 247’s composite rankings.

NoleGameday had a chance to catch up with Maluk after his visit and were able to ask him a couple of questions.

Q: What did you like about Florida State originally to make you want to visit?

Maluk: "I enjoyed the culture and it’s a great team atmosphere."

Q: How was your first experience visiting Florida State, and what were your thoughts overall?

Maluk: "It was a great experience and I enjoyed everything. A very energetic sports culture. Really enjoyed the football game and hoops practice."

Q: I saw Taylor Bol Bowen was your host, did you guys know each other beforehand? And how was he as a host?

Maluk: "I’ve known Taylor for a while. He’s a great host."

Q: How would you describe your game overall? What are your strengths?

Maluk: "Being able to make open shots at my height, being able to run the floor. (Can) guard smaller and bigger matchups."

Q: How do Coach Hamilton and the staff plan to utilize you, if you were to come to Florida State?

Maluk: "They would (want to) play me freely and maximize my versatility."

Maluk didn’t indicate if he has any more visits or a decision date on the horizon, but it is notable that Florida State received his first visit. He did recently announce his top five and the Seminoles made the cut alongside Ohio State, LSU, Oregon, and Pittsburgh.
