ESPN Analyst Leaning Toward Florida State Star Jordan Travis as Early Heisman Favorite

In this story:
Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis is heading into his sixth season playing college football. He spent one season with Louisville before transferring to Florida State in 2019. Since then, Travis has endured the transition to Mike Norvell taking over as head coach, which has ultimately helped in his development.

After playing under Norvell’s coaching and system for three seasons, Travis is gaining traction as an early Heisman favorite for the 2023 college football season. ESPN’s Heather Dinich is leaning toward Travis to win the award ahead of the season.
Looking at some stats, and I'm leaning towards Jordan Travis as my early Heisman favorite.

Last season, Travis played 13 games, the most of any season in his career, and he was able to throw for 3,214 yards, accounting for 24 touchdowns to his five interceptions.
What’s so unique about Travis, though, is his dual-threat ability. He rushed for an additional 417 yards, reeling in seven rushing touchdowns. Not to mention, he even caught a receiving touchdown last season.
With a loaded wide receiver room and incredibly consistent running back room, Travis will have the supporting pieces he needs to compete for the Heisman award.
To build on his potential Heisman resume, Travis and the Seminoles will have to come out and have a successful season. With a possible College Football Playoff appearance looming, Travis should have no issue finding his way onto the list of finalists for the award if the team lives up to expectations.
BetMGM currently has Travis tied with Oregon’s Bo Nix for second in odds to win the award. They both have +1200 odds to win, according to BetMGM. They list Caleb Williams as the favorite at +500, as he is coming off his Heisman season playing at USC.
