The Seminoles have been no stranger to pre-season hype this off-season, with many publications projecting the program to compete for a conference title and contend for a College Football Playoff (CFP) berth - an accomplishment that hasn't happened since the first year that the format was adopted in 2014.

According to VegasInsider.com, which released a collection of projected win totals for each power five program, the Florida State Seminoles are expected to finish just below their 10-win record from last season according to Fan Duel (-142) and Caesars Sportsbook (-125), with a projected win total of 9.5. DraftKings currently has the 'Noles projected for ten wins (-110). BetMGM and PointsBet oddsmakers have yet to release theirs.

In contrast, the experts' projections for FSU rivals, the Florida Gators and Miami Hurricanes, were less optimistic. The Gators were projected to win 5.5 games across the board (-134, -140, -105), while the Hurricanes had a slightly better projection with 7.5 wins (+138, +110, +120). Both programs are currently adapting to recent coaching, staff and personnel changes, which may have influenced the experts' predictions.

Much of the 'Noles' 2023 destiny will depend on the performance of Jordan Travis, the prospective Heisman Trophy candidate quarterback entering his final season in Tallahassee. Vegas currently gives him an average projection of +1100 to win the award.
