While Florida State has landed nine players out of the NCAA Transfer Portal, the Seminoles have also seen a couple of talented members of the roster elect to explore their options elsewhere.

Last month, former Florida State star running back Treshaun Ward entered the portal. At the time, the Seminoles were unable to guarantee Ward a specific number of touches due to the caliber of players returning in the backfield, including Trey Benson, Lawrance Toafili, Rodney Hill, and Caziah Holmes.

It didn't take long for Ward to find a new home. After taking a visit to Kansas State, he committed to the Wildcats on January 10, finding the perfect landing spot for his skill set.

On Wednesday, Kansas State officially announced the addition of Ward during February's National Signing Day.

The Florida native and former walk-on finished second on the team in rushing this past year. He led Florida State in the Cheez-It Bowl victory against Oklahoma with ten carries for 81 yards and two touchdowns. His second score put the Seminoles up by a touchdown in the fourth quarter of a game the team ended up securing by three points.

During four years at Florida State, Ward appeared in 26 games, with six starts, totaling 188 rushes for 1,241 yards with 12 touchdowns in garnet and gold. He added 28 catches for 210 yards and another score. Ward also made a large impact on the program off the field.

Ward is essentially coming into Kansas State to replace Deuce Vaughn, who was one of the top running backs in the country in 2022 and recorded nearly 2,000 yards from scrimmage and 12 total touchdowns.
