Potential Star Wide Receiver Kentron Poitier Returning To FSU Football In 2024

The Seminoles are bringing back one of the top athletes and playmakers on their roster.

Florida State is losing its top two wide receivers from last season as Keon Coleman and Johnny Wilson make the leap to the NFL. With that being said, the Seminoles still have a potential star waiting in the wings in rising redshirt senior Kentron Poitier. The massive playmaker was FSU's king of the spring but dealt with injuries that limited his availability for much of the year.

On Monday, Poitier announced that he was returning to Tallahassee in 2024 through a release with The Battle's End. It's expected that he'll play a significant role and will compete for a starting job after catching six passes for 136 yards in ten appearances, with three starts, last year. The bulk of that came in the Orange Bowl as he hauled in four receptions for 84 yards, including a 55-yard effort, against Georgia.

The Florida native is entering his fifth season with the program. He signed with the Seminoles as a three-star prospect in the 2020 class. Poitier has appeared in 40 games, with three starts, while catching 28 passes for 480 yards and four touchdowns in garnet and gold. He was named FSU's most improved offensive player following the 2022 season.

If he stays healthy, the sky is the limit for Poitier. He has an opportunity to be the alpha dog in a wide receiver room that includes redshirt senior Darion Williamson, redshirt junior Ja'Khi Douglas, sophomore Hykeem Williams, sophomore Vandrevius Jacobs, sophomore Destyn Hill, and Alabama transfer Malik Benson.

Outside of Poitier, running back Lawrance Toafili, running back Caziah Holmes, wide receiver Darion Williamson, wide receiver Destyn Hill, offensive lineman Robert Scott, offensive lineman Darius Washington, offensive lineman Maurice Smith, offensive lineman Keiondre Jones, offensive lineman Jeremiah Byers, defensive end Patrick Payton, defensive end Byron Turner Jr, safety Shyheim Brown, punter Alex Mastromanno, and kicker Ryan Fitzgerald have all announced they'll return to Florida State since December.
