FSU Football Commit, Four-Star DE Plans To Visit Colorado Buffaloes, Deion Sanders

Despite being committed to the Seminoles, the top recruit is still exploring all of his options.

Recruiting has entered a new age with the introduction of unlimited official visits and NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness). It takes a significant amount of resources on and off the field to build a top recruiting class in modern college football. That's simply a fact coaches will have to live with moving forward.

Florida State is still working on filling out its recruiting class. The Seminoles hold four commitments with the beginning of April on the horizon and the haul ranks No. 22 in the country according to 247Sports. The foundation of #Tribe25 is currently made up of four-star offensive lineman Solomon Thomas, four-star defensive end Javion Hilson, four-star quarterback Tramell Jones Jr., and three-star linebacker Ethan Pritchard.

Hilson is one of the most coveted pieces in the class after flipping from Alabama to Florida State in the aftermath of Nick Saban's retirement. It's become clear that the Seminoles are going to have to battle it out for his signature until the Early Signing Period in December. According to his social media, Hilson plans to take an unofficial visit to watch Colorado's spring game on April 27. The visit is expected to be his first to another school since flipping his commitment in January.

Deion Sanders has already secured multiple blue-chip recruits since arriving in Boulder, including five-star cornerback Cormani McClain (2023) and five-star offensive lineman Jordan Seaton (2024). Sanders is hoping the additional talent will help the Buffaloes improve on their 4-8 record from his first season with the program.

It is worth noting that Hilson has been to Tallahassee twice this year. He was in attendance for a junior day in February before returning for Legacy Recruiting Weekend earlier this month where he met Jared Verse and Patrick Payton. Mike Norvell, John Papuchis, and David Johnson previously dropped by his high school in January, furthering their efforts.

Hilson is coming off a productive junior season for Cocoa High School where he totaled 94 tackles, 27 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and two pass deflections. He was a major reason why the Tigers secured their second straight state championship in December.

The 6-foot-3.5, 225-pound defensive end is regarded as the No. 35 overall prospect, the No. 1 EDGE, and the No. 5 recruit in the state of Florida in the 2025 class according to 247Sports.
