Philadelphia Eagles Set to Host FSU Football Standout Cornerback Jarrian Jones On Visit

The Philadelphia Eagles are using one of their 30 visits to host Florida State cornerback Jarrian Jones.

Florida State has plenty of former athletes deep in the NFL Draft process. The amount of talents from last season projected to be playing on Sunday's next fall goes to show how talented the Seminoles were in their 13-1, ACC Championship-winning campaign.

One of those players receiving plenty of buzz ahead of the draft is cornerback Jarrian Jones, who spent four seasons in Tallahassee after playing one season with Mississippi State.

The 6-foot, 190 pound cornerback will be taking an official Top 30 visit with the Philadelphia Eagles, according to Andrew DiCecco. The Florida State product is getting solid draft buzz, and rightfully so.

The strides Jones has taken year after year in Tallahassee isn't something that has flown under the radar. He won Florida State's Most Improved Defensive Player of the Year in both 2022 and 2023.

After allowing five touchdown passses in 2021 -- he's been a lockdown corner since, allowing zero touchdowns over the past two seasons. His pass coverage rating was one of the best in the nation this past season.

Jones recorded five interceptions, 15 passes defended, 84 total tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, 1.0 sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery over 44 games. His most productive season was this past season, intercepting three passes and recording five tackles for loss while playing in the slot.

While Jones has shown his versatility and ability to both improve and adapt on the football field, he's also an athletic prospect. He ran a 4.38 second 40-yard dash and posted a 39.5 inch vertical.

It's likely Jones is drafted later on Day 2 or early Day 3, and the Eagles hold one fourth-round pick, three fifth-round picks, and one sixth-round pick. Jones could provide a versatile defensive back they'd be able to use in a variety of ways, making him a safe later round pick.
