Former Florida State defensive back Jammie Robinson found a new home in Charlotte, North Carolina when he was selected 145th overall in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers.

The rookie safety seems to have already made an impression on his new teammates and position coach and they spoke highly of Robinson as the Panthers wrap up workouts and mandatory mini-camps before their pre-season starts mid-August.

"Jammie a pitbull. He's one of my favorite players in the DB room; one of my favorite guys to talk to. He's just football, man, and that type of stuff you just can't teach," Carolina cornerback Donte Jackson said about Robinson in a recent interview. "He can be a difference-maker early; like a Tyrann Mathieu hybrid, for real."

Being compared to a three-time Pro-Bowler with 10 seasons in the NFL under his belt, such as Mathieu, is high praise coming from a new teammate. Jackson doubled down on his remarks.

"He can be a good player in the secondary for a long time and he's definitely showing it with how smart he is and how physical he is."

His position coach, Bert Watts, echoed the same sentiment by saying the mindset and approach he brings to the field make him excited.

"Yeah, he's playing to win. I mean, that's what you see. I mean, he's a guy (that) if he says something that's gonna bother somebody, he's more concerned about helping this team and getting himself better every single day. So, I'm excited about a personality like that because there is no BS. You're just, hey, let's go to work, let's get better and he's just all about that."
