Multiple NFL teams “doing homework” on former FSU running back Dalvin Cook

In this story:
Dalvin Cook, since being released by the Minnesota Vikings, has dominated the NFL news cycle. He’s not the only star running back to be released and still remain unsigned. Ezekiel Elliot, Kareem Hunt and Leonard Fournette are all looking for new homes next season.
For Cook, Florida State’s all-time rushing leader, he’s got the interest of some contenders, who will be trying to sign the four-time Pro Bowl running back.

“The Miami Dolphins and New York Jets are just two of many teams that are doing their homework on (Dalvin Cook),” Dianna Russini said on NFL Live earlier this week.
Both of those destinations would allow the former Seminole to step into a role that allows him to compete at the highest level. The Dolphins have Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, two elite, speedy wide receivers, that provide a high-level offense for Cook to join. Raheem Mostert would be his backup, too.
The Jets are also a fun team for Cook to join. They traded for Aaron Rodgers this offseason, and they had a young team with a solid defense last season. With Breece Hall’s injury, Cook would assume the starting running back position until Hall is healthy, then the two would work in tandem. This would be similar to Tom Brady, Fournette and Rob Gronkowski joining the young Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020, leading to a Super Bowl win.
Also with the Jets is another Florida State alumni in Jermaine Johnson.
On the live stream, Russini mentioned that those were just two of the teams looking into Cook and his situation in free agency. One would assume a player who was just selected for his fourth straight Pro Bowl will have a solid market in his free agency.
Whichever route Cook goes, he’s got contending, solid teams willing to bring him in and allow both sides of the deal to benefit. The former Seminole is more than capable of producing big games and will benefit from the change of scenery.
