Florida State is rolling on the field and on the recruiting trail. The Seminoles did the majority of their work in their 2024 class throughout the offseason but the coaching staff is still pushing for a couple more gems to fill out the final open spots.

On Sunday, five-star defensive lineman Armondo Blount announced on social media that he was flipping his commitment from Miami to FSU. The move comes on the heels of Blount unofficially visiting the Seminoles to watch the victory over Duke in person.

To make this move even sweeter, the Florida native is expected to reclassify to the 2024 class and join the Seminoles sooner rather than later according to a report from Noles247's Zach Blostein.

It always seemed like this recruitment wasn't over just yet whenever Blount committed to Miami in September. Florida State continued to push for him and made it clear that the best path for his future would be in Tallahassee.

Outside of his visit over the weekend, Blount was on campus twice over the offseason and also attended the Seminoles' victory against LSU in Orlando. He transferred to Miami Central High School to play out the 2023 season, recording 32 tackles, ten tackles for loss, eight sacks, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in five games.

Blount is a teammate of four-star wide receiver and FSU commit, Lawayne McCoy. With his pledge, the Seminoles are up to 22 verbal pledges in #Tribe24 with the class ranked inside the top five in the country.

The 6-foot-4, 250-pound defensive lineman is ranked as the No. 5 overall prospect, No. 2 DL, and the No. 1 recruit in the state of Florida in the 2025 class according to 247Sports. It remains to be seen how his ranking shifts once he is adjusted to the 2024 class.
