At the same time, Florida State has been on the opposite side of a couple of announcements.
On Saturday afternoon, five-star wide receiver Jaime Ffrench announced that he was committing to Alabama over FSU, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Penn State. The Seminoles missed out on Ffrench in July but the program does have one key factor playing in its favor that might help to get back into the mix.
Ffrench's quarterback at Mandarin High School is four-star prospect Tramell Jones Jr., who pledged to Florida State back in April. Jones Jr. is doing his fair share of recruiting to try and get his talented teammate to join him in garnet and gold.
"If you want to be coached by the best, he sees the relationship he has here, he's definitely wanted. I feel like this is the place for him - what he wants, his playing style, it's just perfect here," Jones Jr. said to NoleGameday at FSU's Elite Camp.
The Florida native has visited Tallahassee three times this offseason. He's expected to attend at least one game during the fall as well. Florida State will have plenty of opportunities to change Ffrench's mind over the next year and change.
As a junior, Ffrench caught 44 passes for 671 yards and five touchdowns.
Florida State's 2025 class is off to a successful start with two verbal commitments. The haul ranks No. 13 in the country.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound wide receiver is regarded as the No. 13 overall prospect, the No. 4 WR, and the No. 3 recruit in the state of Florida in the 2025 class according to 247Sports.
