Georgia vs Mississippi State Game Two - Georgia Looking to Take the Series

Everything fans need to know about the second matchup between Georgia and Mississippi State.
The Georgia Bulldogs and the Mississippi State Bulldogs kicked off their conference series on Thursday evening, and the top-five matchup got off to a hot start. Georgia jumped out to a 10-2 lead early in the game, but the game was far from over.
Mississippi State responded by scoring seven unanswered runs in the last three innings of the game, and was in a position to either tie the game or potentially hit a walk-off in the bottom of the ninth. Georgia managed to slam the door on Mississippi State, though, and take the first game of the series by a final score of 10-9. It was Mississippi State's first home loss of the season.
Tre Phelps was the hero of game one for Georgia. He had three hits in five at-bats with four RBI. Three of those runs batted in came off a three-run shot Phelps belted in the 2nd inning to make it a 4-0 ball game. Kenny Ishikawa also had a strong night at the plate with three hits and 2 RBI of his own.
Joey Volchko had a strong night on the mound as he went five innings, allowing eight hits, two runs and struck out three batters while surrendering just one free pass. Things went south in the seventh inning for Georgia's pitching staff as they allowed five runs in the inning to allow Mississippi State back into the game.
