BREAKING: Brock Bowers Announces 2024 NFL Draft Decision

Junior tight end Brock Bowers officially calls it a career, forgoing his senior season at UGA and declaring for the NFL draft.

One of college football's most dominant players has decided he will no longer be playing football for the University of Georgia. Georgia Bulldogs tight end Brock Bowers has officially announced his decision for the 2024 NFL Draft, forgoing his senior season with the Dawgs.

The two-time John Mackey award winner was spectacular in his three years with Georgia. Dealing with an ankle injury that sidelined him for a portion of this season, the tight end still led the Bulldogs in receiving yards, hauling in 714 yards on 56 catches for six touchdowns. Bowers has played in 40 games in his three-year career, with 2,538 yards on 175 catches for 26 total touchdowns while also picking up 193 rushing and five touchdowns.

Before the 2023 season had begun, Bowers had been compared to some of the NFL's best tight ends, like George Kittle. Bowers has also been compared to the Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts through the two athletes' exceptional ability to catch the football and be a receiving threat for opposing defenses. Pitts is the NFL's highest-drafted tight end, going fourth overall after racking up 100 catches for 1,492 yards and 18 touchdowns in his three-year career with the Florida Gators.

Last year, the draft saw Dawson Knox come from Utah and immediately become an important piece for the Buffalo Bills offense. Multiple teams could use a tight-end talent like Bowers, such as the Chicago Bears, who may very well land a top-ten pick. Bowers is a solidified first-round pick, he now gets to wait for Draft Night and his name to be called as a new member of the NFL in April.
