Georgia Football Commit Dylan Raiola Flips to Nebraska Cornhuskers

The Georgia Bulldogs just lost the highest-ranked player in its 2024 recruiting class. Here is what we know so far.

The Georgia Bulldogs 2024 recruiting class took a major blow today as its highest-ranked player Dylan Raiola announced that he would be flipping his commitment from the Bulldogs to the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Raiola, the nation's highest-rated prospect in 2024, was at one point committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes before flipping his commitment to the Bulldogs. He moved to the State of Georgia this year to play football at Buford High School his senior year to be closer to Athens, Georgia.

Raiola's decision to move high schools made it seem almost guaranteed that the quarterback would eventually sign with the Bulldogs. However, just before signing day, rumors began to swirl that the commit would end up flipping from Georgia to join the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

While the news is certainly shocking, Raiola's commitment to Nebraska makes sense, as a handful of members in his family have connections to the school. His father, Dominic Raiola played for the Corn Huskers before his near-decade-long career in the NFL. While his uncle, Donovan is currently a coach at the school.

The loss of Raiola is a major blow to Georgia's 2024 recruiting class. However, the Bulldogs still possess a commitment from 4-star quarterback Ryan Puglisi who has been a member of the Bulldogs 2024 class for quite some time now.
