Georgia Football, Kirby Smart Praised by NFL Coaches at Combine

Georgia has produced NFL talent at a ridiculous clip under Kirby Smart. Some NFL coaches are jealous of his rings, while others are just thankful for all the players.

It's hard to turn on an NFL game and not find a Georgia player somewhere on the field. The Bulldogs have long been an NFL pipeline, but the flood of talent to the NFL from Athens has never been higher. Under head coach Kirby Smart, Georgia has broken multiple draft records and they aren't showing signs of slowing down anytime soon.

That kind of production, combined with winning back-to-back national championships, is going to garner some attention from the pros. In Indianapolis for the NFL Scouting Combine, multiple coaches took time to praise the job Kirby Smart has done at Georgia.

Raheem Morris, in his first offseason as the new Atlanta Falcons head coach, was asked about his relationship with Smart.

“Jealous is my relationship with Kirby Smart," said Morris. "Let’s go win some championships like that guy... They’ve done nothing but formulate a great program. Again, it starts with the people. Just watching him win championships. It’s been fun to see. It’s been fun to see the acquisition of great talent coming out of Georgia... I know where I live now is a big Georgia contingency. I’ve got to get my Bulldog hats and support what those guys are doing.“

Later in the day, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni was asked by Zach Klein of WSB-TV for "one DNA trait" to describe Georgia players under Kirby Smart.

"Toughness, right? Toughness," said Sirianni. "Obviously the guys that we've drafted and have on our team from Georgia are highly talented. Right, we have two first-round guys with Jordan [Davis] and Jalen [Carter], another first-round guy in Nolan [Smith]. We got a third-round guy in Nakobe [Dean], and a fourth-round guy in Kelee [Ringo]. So, they're tough, they're physical, they know how to win, and on top of that, they're really good football players."

The NFL Scouting Combine kicks off on Thursday, February 29th.
