Four Bulldogs Makes Top 50 Prospect List for 2024 NFL Draft
The 2024 NFL draft is slowly creeping up the calendar and each passing day makes news around the topic that much more relevant. Mock drafts have already started to be released, several Bulldogs have been pinned as potential first-round picks, and now four of them have been marked as top 50 prospects in this year's draft class.
NFL.com media analyst Daniel Jeremiah released his list of top 50 prospects for this year's NFL draft and four former Bulldogs made the list. Three on offense and one on defense which is a bit of a shake-up for Georgia when it comes to draft prospects as they have become more known for developing players on the defensive side of the football.
First up on the list from Georgia sitting up at the number eight spot is tight end Brock Bowers. This shouldn't as a surprise as Bowers has consistently been the first Bulldog taken off the board in the majority of mock drafts. NFL organizations have been eyeing down Bowers since his freshman season at Georgia, and now finally, one lucky team will get to call his name on day one of the draft. Bowers being a tight end may limit his draft ceiling just a little bit but it's hard to imagine he would fall anywhere outside of the top 15 or even the top then this year.
Ten spots behind Bowers was offensive lineman Amarius Mims, coming in at the 18 slot. There's a good chance Mims will come away from the NFL combine being labeled as the freakiest athlete in the entire class. He checks all the boxes from a measurables standpoint, the only knock against him is that he played in a limited number of games while in college due to injury. Regardless, offensive tackles are always a highly sought-after asset in the first round of the NFL draft, and Mims is expected to be high up on the list.

A bit further down the list was the next Bulldog, defensive back Kamari Lassiter at no. 42. He put together one of the more impressive seasons from a Georgia defensive back in program history in 2023. Lassiter played the role of an enforcer in Georgia's secondary and was extremely reliable for the entire season. Jeremiah mentions that Lassiter's ability to play multiple spots will help in the draft, but unfortunately for him, he's in a defensive back class that is flooded with talent. Some draft analysts still believe he will be a first-round selection, and no one would likely bat an eye if he was.
Right behind Lassiter was the final Bulldog on the list as Ladd McConkey came in at no. 44. The former Georgia wide receiver is one of the more intriguing prospects in this class. He doesn't have impeccable size but the college tape and traits he possesses make it very difficult to not acknowledge him. Jeremiah notes that he could see McConkey having a very similar career to former Seattle Seahawk Doug Baldwin. Unlike Baldwin, McConkey will not go undrafted in this year's draft class, and if Jeremiah's rankings are accurate, he might just be an early day-two selection.
