BREAKING: Walker Lyons Makes College Decision

Georgia tight end prospect and target Walker Lyons has announced his commitment to the USC Trojans per his social media profile.

Georgia tight end prospect and target Walker Lyons has announced his commitment to the USC Trojans per his social media profile.

Following his de-commitment from Stanford, in an interview with 247Sports, Lyons detailed which schools are in the mix, and while Stanford was still under his consideration with the new staff, programs such as Georgia, Utah, and USC inserted themselves as well.

247Sports has Lyons ranked as the No. 148 player while On3 has him ranked as the No. 230 player in the class. Regardless of where he goes, he will not be setting foot on the field anytime soon due to the fact that he is leaving to serve his LDS mission at the end of this month, which means he will delay his enrollment until the fall of 2024.

Georgia has been on an absolute tear on the recruiting trail, particularly at the tight end position, however. Tight ends coach Todd Hartley has landed virtually every target he's pursued dating back to the 2020 signing class when he landed Darnell Washington out of Nevada. Followed by Brock Bowers, Oscar Delp, Lawson Luckie, and Pearce Spurlin. Lyons, along with Duce Robinson were the two other targets left on the board.

With Lyons off to USC, it's all eyes on Duce Robinson, who will not be deciding on his future until likely July.
