The Georgia Bulldogs are coming off of yet another dominant performance in week two, defeating Ball State by a score of 45-3. The program also extended its win streak up to 19 games this past weekend and will look to continue that streak in week three as they begin their conference play against South Carolina. And according to the current betting odds, Georgia is posed as a massive favorite for Saturday.

As of Sunday, Georgia has been listed as a 28-point favorite over the Gamecocks according to Fan Duel and a 24.5-point favorite by Draft Kings. Circa sports also has Georgia tabbed as a 26-point favorite. It's not unusual for the reigning back-to-back national title winners to be considered heavy favorites in a football game, but for the first conference game of the season for both teams, it might come as a bit of a surprise.

Georgia rolls into week three with quite a bit of momentum, as they have taken care of business in the first two weeks of the season against UT-Martin and Ball State, while South Carolina is trying to redirect the ship after a week one loss to North Carolina. The Gamecocks' quarterback, Spencer Rattler, has looked impressive through two games, but South Carolina as a whole is still trying to find some consistency.

Since taking over as head coach at Georgia, Kirby Smart holds a record of 6-1 against South Carolina, with his only loss being in 2019 at home. In his six wins, the Bulldogs are averaging 37.6 points offensively while only allowing an average of 12.8 points per game. Georgia has also won those games by an average margin of 24.8 points, so perhaps the current spreads aren't too lofty, considering the recent history of this divisional rivalry.

The Bulldogs haven't lost to an eastern division opponent since the 2020 season and by the early looks of things going into this week three matchup, that trend doesn't appear to coming to a halt.
