Georgia Tech releases depth chart ahead of matchup with Bowling Green

Georgia Tech is aiming for its third win of the season on Saturday

Georgia Tech is preparing for their matchup against 1-3 Bowling Green this week and after head coach Brent Key met with the media today for his weekly availability, the depth chart for the upcoming game was released.

No surprise, but there are not any major changes to it.

The offensive line is going to remain the same this week, which is a good sign considering that Jordan Williams was hurt in the last game. Ethan Mackenny, Joe Fusile, Weston Franklin, Connor Scaglione, and Williams will be the group up front.

Haynes King has been one of the best quarterbacks in the ACC and will have a chance to put up monster numbers against a bad Bowling Green defense this week.

The running backs still have an "or" designation beside them, but Jamal Haynes and Trey Cooley are likely to be the main backs again this week. Dontae Smith has been banged up, but Key said today that he is good to go and will be back in the rotation this week.

Eric Singleton Jr is going to get another start and look for his fifth (or more) touchdown in his fifth game as a Yellow Jacket this weekend. Malik Rutherford is another starter and either Abdul Janneh or Dominick Blaylock will get the start on the other side. Janneh caught his first touchdown as a Yellow Jacket last week.

Dylan Leonard will start at tight end, but you can expect Luke Benson and Brett Seither to play as well.

Malik Rutherford

Defensively, there are not any changes. Eddie Kelly is going to start on one end while Kyle Kennard or Keving Harris starts at the rush position. Kennard had a monster game vs. Wake Forest, notching four sacks. Zeek Biggers and Makius Scott will get the start inside.

At linebacker, Paul Moala and Trenilyas Tatum will get the start, but the Yellow Jackets have been rotating at that position for the past couple of weeks and guys like Andre White, Braelen Oliver, and Kyle Efford will likely see some playing time.

In the secondary, Myles Sims and Ahmari Harvey are starting at cornerback, but you can expect Kenan Johnson to see plenty of reps as well. LaMiles Brooks will be the starter at strong safety, while Jaylon King or Clayton Powell-Lee will be the other starter. King was named ACC defensive back of the week after catching two interceptions against Wake. K.J. Wallace will be the starter at nickel again.

After some solid performances, it seems as if Aidan Birr has the kicking job locked down. Gavin Stewart will still handle kickoffs and David Shanahan will be the punter.
