How To Watch Tonight's East-West Shrine Bowl

Former Georgia Tech linebacker Charlie Thomas will be playing tonight

Another former Yellow Jacket is going to be playing in a college showcase game and trying to elevate his draft stock tonight.

In the past couple of weeks, EJ Jenkins, Malachi Carter, and Ace Eley have been showcasing their talents and impressing NFL teams in their respective all-star games. Carter had three catches for 34 yards and Eley had a scoop and score in last week's NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.

Former Yellow Jacket Charlie Thomas is going to have that chance to make his case to be an NFL Draft pick tonight at the East-West Shrine Bowl. The Shrine Bowl is one of the biggest pre-draft events and with a good performance, should see his stock rise in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Televised nationally during primetime on NFL Network, the East-West Shrine Bowl will kick off from Allegiant Stadium, one of the nation’s premier professional stadiums. The Thursday evening event will bring approximately 125 of the nation’s top college seniors to be coached by NFL staff for a week of preparation in front of hundreds of NFL scouts, professional agents, and media, all leading up to the 2023 NFL Draft.

Thomas had a fantastic season that resulted in him earning second-team All-ACC from the AP. He finished the 2022 season with over 100 tackles, had two sacks, two pass deflections, two interceptions, and two forced fumbles. He was a constant playmaker for the Yellow Jackets and he is not going to be easy to replace next season.

Thomas was an All-ACC honorable mention in 2021 after having 70 total tackles and a team-high 10 for loss. Thomas also had two interceptions last season. He has been on the field for the Yellow Jackets ever since his freshman season.

For Thursday’s East-West Shrine Game, Thomas is on the West squad, which is coached by the New England Patriots coaching staff. Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is acting in a supervisory role with wide receivers coach Troy Brown serving as the head coach. In addition to Thursday’s contest, the East-West Shrine Game has featured practices throughout the week that have been attended by personnel from all 32 NFL teams.
