The Gonzaga men’s basketball team is in an unfamiliar place.

The No. 13 Bulldogs lost to San Diego State 84-74 on Friday night at the McCarthey Athletic Center, dropping to 9-4 on the season. When the next Associated Press Top 25 poll is released on Monday, it’s possible the Zags will be unranked for the first time since the end of the 2015-16 season.

It was the Zags first home loss to a nonconference opponent since 2015, and they are still winless against Quad 1 teams.

Graham Ike was a bright spot for Gonzaga with 20 points and 10 rebounds, but the Bulldogs shot just 5-of-19 from the 3-point line and committed multiple turnovers during critical late-game possessions. They finished with eight second-half turnovers.
