Gonzaga vs. Pepperdine: Latest betting odds for WCC men's basketball game
The Gonzaga men's basketball team heads to Malibu, California, for its second matchup of the season against Pepperdine.
The Bulldogs (11-5, 2-1 WCC) look for their first win on the road this season after a letdown at Santa Clara last week. Despite Anton Watson tying his career-high with 32 points, a slow start and poor shooting night weren't enough in the 77-76 loss to the Broncos, who had lost 26 straight matchups against their WCC foes entering the night. Adama Alpha-Bal delivered the go-ahead basket with four seconds remaining after Ryan Nembhard missed a free throw the possession prior.
Gonzaga leads the WCC in scoring (84.3 points) and rebounds per game (41.8, 15th in the nation). The team's 49.7% shooting from the floor ranks second in the league and 14th nationally.
The Waves (9-10, 2-2 WCC) enter Thursday having won their last two games over Pacific and San Diego. A 17-0 run helped overcome a 15-point deficit against the Toreros, which snapped Pepperdine's 29-game losing streak on the road in an 83-77 win. Michael Ajayi led the way with 24 points and 12 rebounds.
Ajayi leads the WCC in scoring (18.4 points) and is second in rebounds per game (9.8). His 11 double-doubles are the third-most in the country.
Gonzaga won the previous matchup, 86-60, against Pepperdine in the WCC opener on Jan. 4. Graham Ike led the way with 20 points as four other Bulldogs scored in double figures.
