After declaring for the 2023 NBA Draft last month, Gonzaga's Anton Watson received an invite to the NBA G-League Elite Camp.

Watson, who has one year of college eligibility remaining, will have an opportunity to compete in five-on-five scrimmages in front of NBA and G-League coaches, scouts and front office executives.

The field of 47 prospects will also go through strength and agility drills. The G-League camp runs May 13-14 at Wintrust Arena in Chicago prior to the NBA Draft combine from May 15-21.

Based on performance, select players from the G-League camp will be invited to the draft combine.

The deadline for prospects to withdraw from the draft and return to college is June 1.

Watson averaged a career-high 11.1 points and 6.2 rebounds as a senior, earning him an All-WCC honorable mention nod. He posted the best two-point field goal percentage in the conference while guarding the opposition’s most-skilled offensive player night in and night out.

Watson recorded a career-best 66 steals, which is the second-most in the West Coast Conference and the fourth-most steals in Gonzaga's program history. His 162 steals over his four-year career is seventh all-time.

Watson, Drew Timme, Julian Strawther, Malachi Smith and Steele Venters were among the 242 early-entry candidates for the NBA Draft, which was released on April 25. Strawther and Smith publicly declared their intentions to go pro in March. Timme joined the Gonzaga Nation podcast in early March to talk about his intentions to enter the NBA draft.

Though scouts have admired Watson’s size, athleticism and basketball IQ, most mock drafts don’t project the 6-foot-9 forward to hear his name called on draft night.
