Greg Heister on last season's Gonzaga Bulldogs: 'That was my favorite Zag team of all time'

Greg Heister, the voice of Gonzaga men's basketball on KHQ/ROOT Sports for over 20 years, has called games for some talented teams in his career. However, from his perspective, no season stands out more than the 2022-23 campaign.

"That was my favorite Zag team of all time," Heister said on the Gonzaga Nation podcast. "They had this ability to allow people to stay close and then they just ripped the hearts out of guys."

A defining moment for Heister was Julian Strawther's game-winning 3-pointer to beat BYU in the final seconds in Provo, Utah.

"That was one of the greatest things I had seen in all my years around the program," Heister said. "It was fantastic when those guys rose to the occasion."

Heister shared more on the Zags, his career as a commentator and his passion for fly-fishing on the latest episode of the Gonzaga Nation podcast.
