What Gonzaga coach Mark Few said after his 700th win: 'What a great run with just unbelievable players'

Few notched another milestone in his career in the Bulldogs' 86-61 win over Pepperdine

After picking up his 700th career victory, Mark Few admitted he wasn't fully aware of the milestone he was set to surpass heading into Gonzaga's 86-61 win over Pepperdine on Thursday.

"It's crazy, I had no idea the other night [at Santa Clara]. I literally had no idea until people started talking about it," Few said after the game.

Here's more of what the Gonzaga men's basketball coach had to say after the win over the Waves.

On earning his 700th win:

"Yeah, it's nuts. I remember the first one against Montana I was so scared going into that game. Didn't know if I would make it through the year, let alone thought about what the normal tenure for D-I guys is about three years so I was just thinking about that on the bus like 'God, it would be the greatest thing ever if I could make it three years.'"

"Man, what a great run with just unbelievable players, just unbelievable players that everyone just really fell in love with. And then just, great staff. Just an awesome run of staff. That's what's made this thing so special."

On what the 700th win means to him right now and down the road:

"Like I said, I'm not a numbers guy. You know, I can just tell you as I told [the team] afterward. This one feels as good as any of the other ones we did just based on where we were at, what we were facing. The way we had to dig it out and compete I don't think, as uncomfortable as it was, I don't think I'd want it any other way. To be fitting of something like that."

"[Pepperdine] fought man. We were in trouble there at half a little bit and we fought, we played great defense. We played great offense. So couldn't ask for anything more."
