According to Adam "Pacman" Jones on the Pat McAfee Show, former Jackson State head coach Deion Sanders will have emergency surgery for a blood clot in his groin.  Jones was serious, but jokingly said, "I had a chance to talk to him this morning...I hope they don't have to cut off [another body part]...just cut the leg off."   The ex-NFL cornerback is close to Deion Sanders and visited him in Jackson, Mississippi during his first significant hospitalization in 2021.

Last week on Thee Pregame Show, Coach Prime's medical team was highly concerned about the pressure in his leg.  "He could lose the foot," Sanders' surgeons said to the Pro Football Hall of Famer.  The medical team and surgeons, Dr. Donald Jacobs, Dr. Max Wohlauer, orthopedic surgeon Dr. Ken Hunt, and athletic trainer Lauren Askevold heard Sanders' concerns about no feeling at the bottom of his foot.  The numbness is a result of the blood pressure dropping in his leg.  Alternative methods to alleviate the issues for Sanders are rest, surgery, or foot amputation.

"Blood clots are scary as hell," Pat McAfee told Jones.  "Blood clots, I don't think people know about.  Blood clots can kill you...I think he's been dealing with this for a little bit."

In 2021, Deion Sanders had an extended hospital stay due to developing blood clots following a medical procedure to repair previous toe injuries in his left foot.  Those problems happened during his college and National Football League playing days.  Physicians performed nine surgical procedures on Sanders and eventually amputated two toes causing him to miss three games in his first regular season at Jackson State.

The Colorado Buffaloes will kick off their 2023 regular season against TCU on Sept. 2.
