Jackson State's 'Sonic Boom Of The South' Marching Band Is Hot And In High Demand At Major Sports Events In 2024

HOUSTON — The Jackson State's "Sonic Boom Of The South" marching band is a hot ticket for major sports and celebrity events at the beginning of 2024. The band garnered international attention for performing with Usher at Super Bowl LVIII's halftime show.
Most people wondered about the band's identity, whose drum majors were decked out in tuxedos and members in navy and white uniforms while executing field drills in the 13-minute halftime extravaganza.

The band's director, Dr. Roderick Little, posted a thank you message to Usher, NFL, Apple Music, and Roc Nation for the "opportunity to share the world's largest stage with one of the most iconic performers of our time!"

The band is not done yet. The marching band was chosen to perform at halftime during the 2024 Allstate HBCU Legacy Bowl. The game will kick off on Saturday, February 24th, at 3:00 PM CT and broadcast on the NFL Network.
