Former Indiana Center Logan Duncomb Steps Away From Basketball For Health Reasons

Logan Duncomb played two seasons at Indiana before transferring to Xavier, but he announced Wednesday that he's stepping away from basketball due to health reasons.

Logan Duncomb announced Wednesday night his decision to step away from basketball due to health reasons.

The 6-foot-10 center spent two years at Indiana before transferring to Xavier for the 2023-24 season.

"I've made the decision to step away from the game of basketball for health reasons," Duncomb wrote on social media. "Basketball has been a huge part of my life for over a decade. I'm incredibly grateful to the countless people who have helped me along the way – especially those at Moeller High School, Indiana University and Xavier University. I'll remain enrolled at Xavier University where I'll work to complete my undergraduate degree. Excited about what lies ahead..."

Duncomb dealt with various injuries that limited his Indiana career. Most notably, a sinus issue sidelined him indefinitely for the majority of the 2022-23 season.

Out of Archbishop Moeller High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, Duncomb committed to former Indiana coach Archie Miller on April 7, 2020. Miller was fired after posting a 12-15 record in 2020-21, but Duncomb remained committed to the Hoosiers.

Across two years under coach Mike Woodson, Duncomb played sparingly. He appeared in 18 games as a Hoosier, split evenly between his freshman and sophomore seasons. Duncomb scored a career-high 10 points, five rebounds and two assists on Dec. 20 against Elon, and ultimately scored 26 total points with 15 rebounds and five blocks during his sophomore year.

Following the 2022-23 season, Duncomb decided to transfer to Xavier University to play for coach Sean Miller, the older brother of Archie Miller. But after Wednesday's announcement, Duncomb has decided to step away from basketball but remain enrolled at Xavier.
