BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Indiana women's basketball senior forward Mackenzie Holmes has earned a spot on the John R. Wooden Award Late Season Top 20 presented by Wendy's, the Los Angeles Athletic Club announced Monday evening.

The Gorham, Maine native is the team's leading scorer averaging 22 points per game, which ranks seventh in the nation. Holmes also averages eight boards per game as a powerful force in the post.

This season, Holmes has scored in double figures all 21 games with 12 games reaching 20 or more points and a pair with 30 or more. In the Hoosiers' sole loss of the season to Michigan State, Holmes scored a career-high 32 points.

Her monstrous numbers continued as she became the second player in 20 years alongside Maya Moore to score three straight 20-point games versus AP Top 25 ranked opponents in Illinois, Michigan and Ohio State.

Because of these performances, she's now No. 10 on the Hoosiers' all-time leading scorers list with 1,668 career points.

The Wooden Award Late Season Top 20 list is chosen by national college basketball experts based on the players' performances so far this season. The players on the list are considered to be the top candidates for the John R. Wooden Women's Player of the Year award presented by Wendy's in April after the NCAA Tournament.

There will also be a Wooden Award All-American Team announced the week of the Elite Eight round of the tournament.

Up next, Holmes and the Hoosiers will start their road game stretch at Minnesota on Wednesday followed up by a trip to West Lafayette to face rival Purdue Sunday.
